98788_0218ANine will broadcast the Gold Telethon (previously known as Gold Week Telethon)  in aid of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Live on Monday from 9.00am to 4.30pm in New South Wales.

The telethon will be hosted by Nine personalities including Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson, David Campbell, Sonia Kruger, Cameron Williams, Deb Knight, Peter Overton, Ken Sutcliffe and Tracy Grimshaw, with live crosses to Sydney Children’s Hospital throughout the day.

During the day, our hosts will be chatting Live to The Voice coaches – Ricky Martin, Joel Madden, Seal and Delta Goodrem and Australia’s Got Talent judge Geri Halliwell. Some of Australia’s top artists will perform live on the telethon, including Emma Pask, Mahalia Barnes, Andrew De Silva and Daryl Braithwaite.

Last year’s telethon raised $2.6 million for the hospital, thanks to the generosity of the community and the major partners. The money went towards numerous services and equipment including the construction of a new Childhood Cancer Research Centre, the purchase of a new heart and lung machine, and a clinical trial studying relapsed neuroblastoma patients (a form of childhood cancer).

This year the telethon target is raising $3.6 million to support essential equipment, services and research at Sydney Children’s Hospital.

A host of familiar faces, including Channel Nine stars and sports stars, will support the appeal by taking donations on the phone:, Jesinta Campbell, Gary Sweet, Rhys Muldoon, Natalie Saleeba, Geoff Huegill, Gail Elliott, Shelley Craft, Peter Sterling, Casey Burgess, Mario Fenech, Jeff Fenech, Richard Wilkins, Ben Fordham, Peter Berner, Sam Moran, The Block Sky High contestants Maddi & Jarrod and Celebrity Apprentice’s Kym Johnson, Peter Everett, Prue Macsween and Roxy Jacenko.
