Returning: Dexter

The final season of Dexter is now confirmed to launch on Monday July 1st on Showcase.

It will premiere at 4.30pm which is 3 hours after the US, with a primetime replay at 9.30pm.

Showtime in the US is already toying with the idea of a sequel, which I reckon is a bad idea. But at least they acknowledge it needs a lot of space before it will consider it.

Based on the compelling novel by Jeff Lindsay, Dexter chronicles the trials and tribulations of TV’s most peculiar serial Killer; Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall). Fighting his instinctual nature to kill, Morgan struggles to maintain a normal life for both himself and his family.

The eighth instalment of Dexter’s turbulent journey picks up six months after Maria LaGuerta’s (Lauren Vélez) murder, where Dexter is still managing life as a dad, brother, and serial killer. Meanwhile, As Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions, a mysterious woman comes to work with Miami Metro, offering first-hand information on Dexter’s past.

Dexter stars Michael C. Hall in his Golden Globe and SAG Award-winning role as Dexter Morgan. The series also stars Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Aimee Garcia, David Zayas and James Remar. This season also features special guest stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Charlotte Rampling and the return of Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah McKay.
