BBC World News will screen The World Debate filmed during the World Economic Forum in Burma, featuring Aung San Suu Kyi.

2013-06-05_1316On Saturday BBC World News will screen The World Debate filmed during the World Economic Forum (WEF)  in Burma,  featuring Aung San Suu Kyi the Nobel Peace Prize recipient.

Also appearing are U Soe Thane, one of Burma’s leading reformist ministers, and Burmese activist and former political prisoner Zin Mar Aung.

The session will be recorded on Thursday June 6 in Nay Pyi Taw and hosted by BBC World News presenter Nik Gowing.

The panel will discuss the future of Burma and the opportunities and challenges facing its people as the country undergoes major political and economic reforms. The debate was developed in partnership with WEF.

BBC World News: Saturday June 8 at 12.10 AEST and repeated on Sunday June 9 at 19.10 and Monday June 10 at 07.10 AEST
