10 Comments:

  1. If those attempting to talk up the soccer ratings used the same guidelines for the AFL matches to determine the overall audience, the AFL would win by a country mile, with the NRL not that far behind.

Check out the State of Origin ratings tomorrow to be made aware of what really good ratings are.

  2. That’s a really good result, ratings wise for the Socceroos. In total it got around 800,000, that’s roughly the same as, what the NRL and AFL get. The International games rate pretty good, but the A-League not so much. They get around 150,000 but it will get much better now, if they start to bring more Superstars like Del Piero to Australia.

  3. @JoshS – Renovators was 2 years ago now, and there have been three seasons of the show since (including All Stars & Professionals). I doubt that many people still remember that debacle.

I’m amazed at how well Seven has handled House Rules. To have bounced back from such a shocking start to continue building week on week is extremely impressive.

  4. [email protected]

The socceroos also got a bit over 500,000 on SBS, meaning 800,000ish overall. Not sure how that compares to FTA AFL and NRL, but it’s a good figure for football.

  5. @Damien … i would have thought the World Cup qualifier rating quite good. Add 458000 for the delayed coverage on SBS then I think a fairly good result and no doubt will increase for the two vital Home games coming up

  6. I can’t believe how low the World Cup Qualifier ratings were given the prime time slot. AFL and NRL games regularly rate higher than 300,000 on Foxtel yet this game didn’t hit this mark.

Weird. Maybe soccer has a noisy minority of fans.

  7. Masterchef getting hammered.

Bet TEN are glad they split last years finale for The Renovators now. Pissing off your fan base was a smooth move.
