  1. On Zeebox its says that The Mole is on Thurs17 aswell at 8-10pm. And then at 10pm is The 40 Year Old Virgin. Could this be a repeat because of Origin being on the Wednesday?

  2. William…how can you say….”I doubt they will bring back TARA as it failed in ratings after it was dumped at late night. About time they started to dump The “stupid” Mole’ ”

Mole ratings last night were 353,000, whereas the final episode of TARAU gathered 1.195 million! Please do some research before posting a comment like that.

Channel 7 stuffed the race around by putting it in all different timeslots and I think it would have done even better of it was consistently in a 7.30 timeslot. Nevertheless, how stupid can 7 be, to drop an award winning show like the race, just to see how something else would fare! I find it totally unbelievable.

For godsake, 7, get some sense and bring it back.

  3. People who didn’t bother to watch after the first week will likely be those like me who enjoyed previous seasons and who looked forward to this one. Were we disappointed! The pathetic ‘moleish’ activity is awful. There needs to be more interesting content such as challenges where everyone is trying to do their best rather than holding back or deliberately messing up. This is now a really woeful ‘reality’ show.

  4. Thanks to Seven’s quick guide change my recorder taped Surveillance Oz last night instead of The Mole, so I missed last night’s episode. Will it be replayed before next week’s?

According to the guide they are replaying an episode on Saturday, but it’s Tuesday’s episode and not Wednesday’s 🙁 Can someone let me know if they are going to replay Wednesday’s or not?

  5. Bwood …Shine and Fremantle media are renowned for reversioning overseas formats .. ÀGT, XFactor, Master chef etc and draw on many overseas employees (457 visa workers) to produce them – ergo currently there is a huge influx or foreign production staff making these shows – they are not be made by Australians or creating local jobs

  6. I was slightly involved in one episode of the first series of “The Mole” and I think it was great, but after series one it just got more and more stupid. But I do take my hat off to Seven, in fact any network who employs young Australians as crew. Maybe we are getting sick of reality TV, I know I am but maybe something like Border Security ..factual reality I really like, is there something like that that people can get into. I know it is hard to get funding for projects.

  7. @roaringdave, i don’t even think Seven have program editors. Every single program is full of filler stuff that belongs on the cutting room floor. The Mole was a complete mess mainly because of poor editing. It’s what’s ruins MKR as well.

  8. Its a shame, new shows don’t seem to get much of a chance and I still don’t get how they know how many people watch each night.
No one asks me what I watch otherwise The Mole would be a big hit as I like it.

  9. When The Mole was announced and TARA was out, I had a gut feeling that the one that rated better would be the one Seven went with next year. Looks like it will be TARA.

  10. it appears SnideAsides is the only person in this country who could competently produce television. Have you ever put your money where your mouth is and produced anything or do you just criticise others work? I watched the show and it wasn’t for me however at least they are making Australian content and employing Australian people. Good on 7 for having a go and taking a risk

  11. William@
TARAu 2 was a ship brought down by the anchors that was AGT for the first couple of episodes and then bounced back to an season average of 900,000 and even when it was being dragged down by AGT it didn’t fall below 700,000. 7 must be looking at TARAu as a win.

I agree with everyone. The Mole should have been 1 elimination an episode and 1 episode a week.

  12. We can only hope SBS or SBS2 eventually buys the rights to show one of the foreign versions. Seems like that’ll be our only way of getting a competently-produced Mole on our screens any time soon.

  13. This had so much potential, but Seven didn’t deliver. I felt it was too staged and they tried to make it all about bitching (like on MKR, The Block etc). It’s a shame, I was really looking forward to this.

  14. As I wrote on my blog after the first episode, “Should have been an easy sell. Should have been fast and exciting, dragging viewers along for the ride. Should have had great, inventive challenges. Should have had a cast you can root for in their fight against the Mole. Should have had a host who felt like a natural fit. On all five counts, Seven and the producers dropped the ball.”

I stand by that statement. I mean, I like Shura and all, but he didn’t fit here. Add in that for all of the ‘I’m going to pretend to be the Mole’ strategy confessionals nobody’s really doing it that well, and that if they were going to steal any more from the four Dutch seasons given English subtitles on Youtube they might as well have just aired them instead, and… it’s seriously not surprising that it was a catastrofail.

  15. Well I am happy that Seven haven’t cancelled The Mole completely. They should have had it on just once a week from the beginning. Hopefully Seven will now decide the bring back The Amazing Race Australia with Grant Bowler next year!.

  16. @Bella
I doubt they will bring back TARA as it failed in ratings after it was dumped at late night. About time they started to dump The “stupid” Mole

  17. I don’t know what Seven were thinking…oh yes I do, hey our viewers are morons so let’s drag this show out and put it on 3 nights a week, and the idiots will watch every night…Wrong.

Could have been so good and had a lot of interest on this site for its return. But they ruined it. Shura’s a good host, good mix of people cast, challenges weren’t bad, but they failed on several fronts.

The ads were terrible and didn’t fit the premise of the show (saw ads for tonight and they’re just as woeful. It’s meant to intriguing & suspenseful, not a lame comedy).
Then they schedule 3 episodes a week when it should have been one episode/one elimination each episode. Bad editing and greed have caught Seven out.
