CNN's Anna Coren is headed to the US for a month-long assignment.

Anna CorenCNN’s Anna Coren is headed to the US for a month-long assignment, beginning next Monday, July 8.

She will be based in New York and Atlanta but travel wherever news breaks.

Since joining CNN in 2008, Anna has been based in Asia, reporting on some of the biggest news events in the region including the death of Kim Jung Il, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, Thailand’s worst floods in 50 years, the tourist bus hostage standoff in the Philippines and the North Korean nuclear crisis. She has been to Afghanistan twice, most recently in March this year where she was embedded with US Special Forces and was caught in the middle of a firefight with the Taliban. She was named winner of two Asian Television Awards for Best News Presenter in 2011 and 2012. Anna was the Seven Network US correspondent in 2006.
