TEN has announced the premiere of The Bachelor, featuring chiropractor Tim Robards, will premiere 7:30pm Sunday September 8th.
It will kick off with a 90 minute episode.
Australia finally has a Bachelor to call their own. Meet Tim Robards, a chiropractor with a practice in Sydney, Tim is taking on the once-in-a lifetime chance of searching for true love among 25 of Australia’s most eligible bachelorettes.
Ripper Street is out on this night.
Another one hour episode will air the following night, Monday September 9th.
A select group of girls go on a date with Tim to a photo shoot for a national magazine. One bachelorette will be chosen by Tim to be whisked away to one of Australia’s most beautiful coastal towns for the first single date of the series.
Sunday September 8th is now shaping up as a big night of viewing, including Power Games: The Packer Murdoch Story, the finale for The Time of our Lives and the two talent shows, The X Factor and Australia’s Got Talent.
Replays of Bachelor are already scheduled for 11am the following mornings.
Update: TEN has now deleted those replays, in order to try and drive more of us to the premiere. But you can bank on replays being rescheduled after they have screened.

Another crappy series that rehashes crap from its predecessors and US counterparts – not even a suppository could fix. Tens management is as clumsy as it is stupid – nothing original worth watching.
Shouldn’t we wait until it airs?
Ten, are you prepared to take a big hit on this one? this may be ideal for a cable network, but not FTA …. who will take responsibility if this fails?
The Biggest Loser starts next year
I can’t wait for The Bachelor to star, but I really hope that The Biggest Loser: Challenge Australia starts soon too.
I love that the PR is pushing his chiropractic profession, clearly sidestepping his former glory as an underwear model and cover boy on gay magazines…
Cheers David and thanks in advance. Can give a shout out to when New Girl or even Puberty Blues will be back
Saw an ad tonight. it looks great! i hope ten follows it with the Bachelorette!
I hope this finds an audience. I am totally over talent shows.
David, what is following TB due to the fact that Ten has F1 on that night
Graham Norton for 30 mins.
No way this will be able to compete with XF and AGT. Ten needs to give up on reality and offer us alternatives in the early evenings. On another note, they would have been better off launching it this Sunday before or after the MasterChef finale or even on Monday.
