Beware… awkward segue ahead

From Offspring's final scenes to comedy monologue with no credits in between? Good luck, TEN.

2013-08-07_1047If ever there was a time we needed credits on the end of our television shows, it’s tonight when TEN viewers will have to segue from the final, tender scenes of Offspring into the brash comedy of This Week Live.

In the days when TEN used to have credits on their shows, they would at least serve as a breather before moving on to the next topic, but these days you’re supposed to head online if you’re interested in reading those.

A promo for next week’s episode, which will probably only add to viewer distress, will be about as much as we can expect.

The opening comedy monologue on This Week Live has a tough act this week….

  1. I took in the first bit about rove being asked to go on after that and make us laugh, after that I just tuned out for 5 mins reeling before I started paying attention again.

  2. This is one reason I hate watching anything on free to air (including abc who talk all over the credits). There should be a rule that if its a drama there should be 10 seconds breathing space.

  3. let’s be honest the true offspring fans will just switch of the tv or jump online to start talking about it. there will be a few that will keep watching, but considering its the series finale proper closure would be good.

  4. Agree it will be tough to get laughs at home after some one has just died in the previous show.. but it might be some welcome comedic relief after a traumatic event?

I’ll probably watch for half an hour before bed just to get the emotions back in check.
