In the lead up to the show’s return it will also screen a marathon of the previous three seasons from Saturday, August 31 at 6pm to Sunday, September 1 at 6pm.

General Manager of General Entertainment Channels at Foxtel, Brendon Moo, said, “We are really excited to screen the new season of Arrested Development to our Comedy Channel viewers who are so familiar with the show. This is an iconic and critically acclaimed sitcom which has a huge fan base and is the perfect fit for the channel. To mark the new season we are also giving fans and new viewers the chance to see all 53 episodes of the first three seasons with our Arrested Development Marathon.”

Season 4 sees the entire all-star Arrested Development cast return to play the dysfunctional Bluth family – a wealthy family that lost everything. Emmy Award nominated Jason Bateman (Juno, Horrible Bosses, Identity Theft, Couples Retreat) joins Portia de Rossi (Better Off Ted, Nip/Tuck, Ally McBeal), Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad, Scott Pilgrim vs The World), Tony Hale (VEEP, Chuck), Jeffrey Tambor (Phil Spector, the Hangover trilogy), Will Arnett (30 Rock, Up All Night), Jessica Walter, Alia Shawkat, and David Cross.

The fourth season of Arrested Development received three Emmy nominations with Jason Bateman nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show was also nominated for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Music Composition for a Series. The 2013 Emmy Awards winners will be announced in September.

9pm Tuesday September 3 on Comedy.

  1. It was only the other month that they did the double episodes of AD Seasons 1 – 3 on FX every Monday night, leading up to the timing of the NetFlix launch.

I wonder how much it cost Foxtel for the rights? Apparently it was very expensive for overseas broadcast rights, hence the major delay.
