Nine awarded a five year contract to Ai-Media following a tender process involving international and local captioning providers.

Ai-Media CEO, Tony Abrahams said: “Ai-Media is excited to be working with Nine across its diverse mix of leading entertainment programming. New, regulated captioning quality standards were introduced in June. This has played to Ai-Media’s strength in delivering consistent quality at scale.”

Nine’s Director of Commercial and Regulatory Affairs, Scott Briggs, said: “This is an important service to many of our viewers and through this new deal with Ai-Media we are confident we will have the best quality service for them.”

Ai-Media this week celebrates ten years in business having delivered captions for SKY News and FOX Sports.

  1. AI Media are a very good captioning service and this will be a huge win for people with disabilities etc. It’ll make television more accessible to lots of people. Good move by Nine!

  2. I wish there was a way to choose on your tv where you would like the captions. So often they cover up the action so what you don’t miss in sound you miss in sight!

  3. More than likely as that logo is owned by Red Bee Captioning, formerly the Australian Caption Centre. Thus meaning Ten will be the last to have it on screen, alas.
