Vale: Lee Thompson Young

2013-08-20_1214US actor Lee Thompson Young, best known for Disney’s The Famous Jett Jackson and Rizzoli & Isles, has died, aged 29.

Young played the lead character on Disney’s The Famous Jett Jackson for three years and Detective Barry Frost on Rizzoli & Isles.

He was found dead at his home on Monday morning in North Hollywood, Los Angeles police said.

LA Times reports authorities responded to his home shortly after 8 a.m. and discovered his body.

His manager Jonathan Baruch said in a statement, “It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning.

“Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this very difficult time.”

Young also appeared in FlashForward and the movie of Friday Night Lights.

    This is sad and sudden new, and he was so young. Guess we’ll find out what happened in the next few days. R&I is done with shooting this reason but I do wonder if they will write it into the next season?

    It’s sad because you would think someone so young and handsome would have the world at his feet. I knew him from Smallville and Flash Forward (where I think his character suffered the same fate). Rip.
