My predictions for BB are looking like turning to reality. Nine will not be happy that Masterchef beat it with a margin.

Reason = boring, cheap house. A Cheap as Chips production. Too long as well and Gretel missing and no fun time on Friday nights as well as no streaming for the young fans. :-(

  2. jshaw August 15, 2013 at 7:42 pm -

This week live on TEN was just ok but had it’s funny moments, Last week it was much funnier with Rove on the panel

  3. WolfieBoy August 15, 2013 at 7:42 pm -

Cynical – your comment amazes me, feel almost sorry for you that you can’t enjoy such quality scripting for an Australian made drama, shot in Melbourne.

  4. WolfieBoy August 15, 2013 at 7:39 pm -

An excellent night for Ten and well deserved in my opinion. Offspring is a top program and we laughed and cried all in the same final episode. Perfect production 10/10.

M/C is improving and so are the ratings – we are happy to see that as we love the show, especially how it used to be – get it Shine?

The Project is pioneering and innovative high risk programming that only Ten and the ABC would ever attempt. Now the rewards are starting to come in. :-)

  5. David Knox August 15, 2013 at 6:24 pm -

I do a ratings wrap most days under News. The headline changes each day but it will indicate Ratings in the excerpt on the homepage.

  6. larrylaffer August 15, 2013 at 6:22 pm -

Where can we see the ratings of shows outside the top 20 i.e. This Week Live?

  7. David Knox August 15, 2013 at 4:10 pm -

Other figures are filed under ratings story in News. Wednesday Night Fever won its slot.

  8. maxxdude August 15, 2013 at 3:42 pm -

Good figures for MasterChef again. I think Heston Blumenthal was the turn around for the show. It has always been a good show & I for one have been watching since he was on.
Where did TWL go? Did they get any viewers? Still can’t get passed the unfunny ads.

  9. gumbuoy August 15, 2013 at 3:17 pm -

Admin: any idea where Wednesday Night Fever ended up?

    I know ABC aren’t chasing ratings, but I’m surprised it’s still on…

  10. larrylaffer August 15, 2013 at 3:02 pm -

    PJs Ronin

I completely agree, Gruen nailed the parody of both political parties in a fair way.

Hamster.. Just more ABC lefty bias and completely unfunny, I turned it off after 2 minutes, it looks like 200,000 people joined me.

  11. theblueskidoo August 15, 2013 at 1:55 pm -

Last night’s episode of Offspring took my breath away. It deftly balanced tragedy and comedy. The writing and performances were beautifully understated, and the tender moments didn’t feel cloying.

I will have to catch up on Gruen and Hamster on iview. Win-win situation for Russel Howcroft.

  12. Cynical August 15, 2013 at 1:36 pm -

ghgh, what do you mean Offspring is back? It never arrived in the first place.

  13. glennc August 15, 2013 at 1:20 pm -

Did anyone really expect This Week Live to keep the 600k + from last week? Normal crew this week with (no disrespect intended) Tash Exelby and Sammy Johnson. They’re hardly Rove McManus and Matt Lucas are they?

  14. glennc August 15, 2013 at 1:18 pm -

Either way today, I think Russel Howcroft has a smile on his face!!! Ten had a great night, and his show pulled the magic million!

  15. jonno August 15, 2013 at 12:51 pm -

I think The Projects spike in ratings may be due to the election.

  16. ohdenny August 15, 2013 at 12:04 pm -

@Darcey Oh of course, I expect them to. It just didn’t quite fit the mood of Offspring, especially after the funeral scene and then straight after the last scene of Offspring (and before the credits)

  17. natedogg99 August 15, 2013 at 11:17 am -

Hold the eggs ghgh.. Obviously offspring was going to keep last weeks numbers seeing as thou with all the hype after the episode last week n it being the season finale and the birth of the baby. Bring ya eggs back out next year when those statements are properly out to the test :)

  18. Darcey09 August 15, 2013 at 11:11 am -

ohdenny, why wouldn’t Ten promote their upcoming shows? The best audience they’ve had in ages, they’d be crazy not to.

  19. mycreations August 15, 2013 at 10:37 am -

I know Big Brother isn’t doing to well but it has risen every night on last weeks result so far. Hopefully it can keep that trend.

  20. Secret Squirrel August 15, 2013 at 10:20 am -

@ghghgh20_211 – while you’re at it, add in all those who said that AGT would outrate XF. Think you’re going to need a few dozen more eggs.

Although, perhaps they were all from Melbourne? -
    Offspring last wk: 428,000
    This wk: 419,000

  21. ohdenny August 15, 2013 at 10:19 am -

Offspring was brilliant last night. Perfect mix of humour, sadness and joy.

The Wonderland ads seemed kinda in your face though, along with all the other TEN promos they decided to run e.g The Bachelor and RTR.

Looks like TWL didn’t do too great with that lead in though, was good fun still.

  22. Kingaroo18 August 15, 2013 at 10:08 am -

Thank you Offspring! Brilliantly written, sublimely acted. Aussie drama at it’s finest!

  23. David Knox August 15, 2013 at 10:00 am -

    ghgh: Good call.

  24. Ren August 15, 2013 at 9:59 am -

Congrats to offspring finale for hitting no. 1 in all major demo’s. Really thought Gruen would have done better in the demo’s though that could have been offspring’s fault.

  25. ghghgh20_211 August 15, 2013 at 9:53 am -

Can all those people who said viewers will switch off Offspring because Dr. Patrick was killed off please just sign your names below. I just want to know who you are so that I can come to your house and throw and egg on your face.

Number 3 show for the night. Higher than the previous week. Great show. Great drama. Offspring is back!! Woooo!!

  26. Bruce Banner August 15, 2013 at 9:48 am -

Masterchef… wow! Getting back to the days of old, and whipping Big Boredom in the process, happy days!

  27. DanR August 15, 2013 at 9:48 am -

What a very even night. That’s what we want to see more of.

Well done to Ten, particularly to the producers of Offspring. What a touching and classy (and a little bit nuts) finale

  28. PJs Ronin August 15, 2013 at 9:06 am -

Comedy is such an individual thing. Gruen was brilliant (imo) and Hamster was cringe worthy. Pretty good numbers by both tho.
