Big Brother finale locked in
A viewer competition for tix to the Finale gives away the all-important date.

Big Brother will go out with a bang on October 23rd.
The tell-tale date is evident in the Terms and Conditions of a viewer competition that offers tickets to its Grand Final.
Interestingly, October 23rd is a Wednesday night.
Last year the show finished two weeks later, on November 7, but it also started later due to the London Olympics. It then returned to Big Bang episodes for November.
Dreamworld tix are currently on sale up until September 23rd.

@Cam Reed: I ran those dates through the time and date website and it comes out as both being 87 days or 12 weeks rounded (as it’s 12.42857 etc), so same running time this year as last year, so yeah you’re spot on.
David do you think Nine will cancel it after this years season and if so do you think there is any chance Ten will pick it back up ???
Im loving BB this year. Hope the old girl has legs for another run next year. I think I may be in the minority but im engoying minimum 90 minutes daily shows this year every single day!
Nine will pre-record two endings to toe the line with other reality shows. 😉
@carolemorrissey Daylight Saving starts on Sunday October 06th.
Seems like a normal length season to me, it started on August 13th 2012 and finished on November 07th 2012 (also a Wednesday), with this year it starting on July 29th and the end date likely being October 23rd.
Doesn’t the format only allow them to run for 100 days?
Take away BB and Nine’s schedule is pretty light on original content at the moment, so I can only imagine lots and lots of Big Bang repeats planned for November.
There is still a good 4-5 weeks left in the ratings year after that. 90min Big Bang every night?
Isn’t that more than usual at 14 weeks? I thought they always ran for 11-12 weeks or 84 something days?
So when does Daylight Savings start? Looks like we won’t have so long as last year being in a different time zone.
Nobody will care by then
Nine really want this out of the way quickly don’t they? That’s the impression I’m getting.
