I miss The Big C!

Laura Linney won an Emmy for The Big C, but Australians are yet to see how good her work was in the final season.

2012-12-05_2313Laura Linney won an Emmy this week for her work on The Big C, but Australians are yet to see how good her work was in the final season.

Linney beat some strong talent, notably Jessica Lange  plus Helen Mirren, Sigourney Weaver and Elisabeth Moss.

The fourth season “Hereafter” takes on a different shape to the preceding seasons.

Instead of 10 or 13 half hour eps, they are just 4 x 1 hour episodes.

These aired in April – May in the US but we are yet to see them in Australia.

GEM was unable to confirm any immediate plans for the show.

  1. Yes, i agree with Dan, thanks for mentioning it, i hoped you would! Laura should have won for Season 1 but that year they rewarded Melissa McCarthy for that pretty limp show. She was also up against Edie Falco and Tina Fey among others. This was a must give to Laura. Ok now win her an Oscar.

  2. Thank you, David! Please don’t let up on them until they do the right thing and let us see out this ‘gem’ of a show.

We need a ‘use it or lose it’ policy for TV. We should be allowed to legally acquire content that broadcasters choose not to air for whatever reason after a certain time frame.

  3. Weeds has been on Nine at 11:30pm Wednesday for a while now, currently (as in tonight), up to episode 12 of season 7, maybe they’ll follow up with season 8 and the final 13 episodes (wouldn’t hold my breath though).

  4. Why are we waiting slowly…

Did they ever get around to showing the final season of Weeds? Most people checked out of that show, but I’m sure some people want closure on that one.

  5. I am so glad you brought this up.

I don’t know why Gem are delaying this great show by so many months. They did the same for last season too! And there is no reason to do so either! Shame Gem shame!
