    So the overall figures are stuffed up a little regarding percentage share.

    Does it matter? Of course not..

    Advertisers will pay huge $$$ for a slot during the AFL GF….way way more than an 8pm slot on a Saturday night, cos the viewing numbers are Huge.

    Ita all about the numbers and the dollars, ch7 and the advertisers are not that dumb, they both know what the price is gonna be

  2. Thanks Seven for showing Cars 2. Imo kids movies have been a bit thin on the ground these school holidays. Hint to Ten- try showing some good kids movies, it couldn’t hurt!

  3. Very smart move giving Million Dollar Minute some extra exposure on the back of the Grand Final, although they should have run a new episode rather than a repeat.

  4. One of the reasons why I hate the AFL administration is that Seven and in the old days Ten (as a partner) do not get the ratings credit they deserve because those AFL admin boofheads do not allow night games. Very sad that they are so stupid and one day no TV network will touch AFL. Also Ten used to show more AFL in HD – what thanks did they get for that.

    Nine show NRL that rates less than half of AFL final and they get all the ratings glory? Why because NRL is shown at night. Something needs to be done about the ratings system methods as well IMHO.

    If sport wants to survive in the present system then the Networks that pay huge money for the rights need night games/races/etc. Only fair to them to allow for some profit 🙁

  5. I was watching Morning Glory on Ten last night. I’d never seen it before but very interesting to look at the parallels between Hollywood fiction and our own morning shows… in particular the rise of Sunrise.

    Even down to their weatherman suffering the same on-air fainting spells as Mr Denyer.

  6. Well done ten – best you could achieve was 19th position overall, and a gardening program on the ABC beat all your programs last night …. How are you going to report your performance to your shareholders?

  7. the AFL Grand Final match did awesome numbers. The coverage around the match got great numbers too. Primetime for Seven was a hit and miss. The Neighbours flopped. Million Dollar did well. Cars 2 did okay. Missed opportunities for Seven.

    Nine did well with the NRL. ABC did well with New Tricks and that’s about it. Ten not too good.

  8. David, am I missing something?

    There seems to be quite a few other programs (7 News, Nine News Sunday, 60 Minutes, Sunday Night, Winners & Losers Wed, etc) mixed into Saturday’s figures.
