Spring hints at new production

FremantleMedia's branded division Spring launched with some fanfare, but its biggest profile production It's a Knockout was 2 years ago.

SpringTwo years ago FremantleMedia launched a new branded TV division called Spring.

Described as “a Jetstar to our Qantas” it was launched with some fanfare at a million dollar Sydney penthouse with TV execs and media.

But since that time only a handful of productions, embedding sponsors into entertainment shows, have made it to screen.

The first was a return for It’s a Knockout, a McDonald’s-funded revival filmed in Malaysia. It fitted with TEN’s summer content but wasn’t renewed.

There were 26 episodes of Steve Irwins’ Wildlife Warriors also for TEN.

Other content has included Australia Day Celebrates, Great Australians plus branded content for Commonwealth Bank and Mamamia website.

Former General Manager

Tony Skinner, who returned to FremantleMedia when Zara Curtis was appointed, was recently announced as joining WTFN.
A spokesperson for Spring told TV Tonight, FremantleMedia’s Ian Hogg was very happy with Spring’s progress and hinted at upcoming news.
“Spring will have a major announcement in a couple of weeks,” they said.
