Embarrassing Bodies Down Under: sneak peek

Video: Her problem isn't too squeamish, but you wouldn't want this woman's condition for quids.

embrbEmbarrassing Bodies Down Under begins on LifeStyle YOU next week with Dr Christian Jessen joined by Aussie GPs – Dr Ginni Mansberg, Dr Sam Hay and Dr Brad McKay.

As with the British version this features some of the most personal and bizarre medical cases around. You’ll be looking through your fingers at some of the stuff they have come up with.

Here’s a look at a woman with a less-squeamish condition -and one of the few in the opening episode that doesn’t involve eye-popping problems below the belt.

In episode one, on Tuesday October 29 at 9.30pm AEDT, viewers will meet a man suffering from pilonidal sinus or “two bum holes”; a young woman with an abnormally high-pitched voice; an older woman with excessive skin flaking; and a man whose quest to be hair free has left him with multiple sebaceous cysts on his scrotum.

The series will give an intimate insight into not only the patient’s treatment, but also their attempts to cope with the emotional and psychological impact of their illnesses.

Tuesday, October 29 at 9.30pm on LifeStyle YOU.

  1. One of their tactics in the UK is to offer surgery from top urogentital surgeons faster than you could get treated through the NHS, in exchange for exposing yourself.

Another one is approach young people drinking in Ibiza and dare them to do things.

The show is about getting nudity and disgusting things on TV because people will watch.

  2. People do make decisions to be on these shows and they probably sign contracts that say they will not sue the producers if they get represented negatively. People choose to go on Embarrassing Bodies because they most likely have been to a GP but couldnt get the problem fixed, so they turn to this unfortunetly they are desperate, the same goes for talent shows, although this is medical and more serious. Enjoyed the UK version would be good if this was picked up but Nine although considering the content maybe not, Australians have become squimish over the past 20 yrs. Not me though.
