Yes, looks like someone is trashing TEN to make it a cheap sale… Gee, I wonder who that could be!

Abbott doesn’t owe Murdoch any favours of course given how neutral his rags are…..

    Then again…

  2. WolfieBoy October 29, 2013 at 8:38 pm -

Monday’s are dead for Ten. I would guess they are concentrating on other nights first, to try and rebuild.

Murdoch has his son in charge of board of directors. They can build Ten back up or kill it. Nothing any of us could do to stop it.

Time will tell. I hope they save it and make it a great FTA network once again as I hardly watch any of the rubbish or constant repeats 9 show. :-)

  3. Jason October 29, 2013 at 4:43 pm -

TEN must be thanking Melbourne for at least getting 9.0 after Sydney recorded 6.6 and Brisbane 6.0 – to average out to the above, according to The Australian.

  4. Ronnie October 29, 2013 at 3:55 pm -

@ Pertinax I refer you to Mark Day’s column in Monday’s Media section of The Australian (no less). Not the first time I’ve seen this speculation either.

  5. Pertinax October 29, 2013 at 10:58 am -

What media speculation? Not even the blogs have suggested Foxtel is buying Ten.

Why would they want to? Murdoch’s desire to own an FTA station was 20 years ago. Now Foxtel’s only interest in buying Ten would be in shutting it down to reduce competition and selling off the land.

The Government and ACMA bent the rules to allow Packer to hold half of Fox Sports but later blocked Stokes from owning any STV assets. There is no way they would let Foxtel hold both STV and FTA licences.

  6. Ronnie October 29, 2013 at 10:31 am -

Media speculation about Foxtel buying/absorbing Ten starting to look realistic….

  7. chivasssimo October 29, 2013 at 10:11 am -

So ten was under 520000 for the whole of prime time? Geez.

  8. Jason October 29, 2013 at 9:47 am -

Yes, it was one of those nights…but…ABC still managed 6 spots in the Top 20 after 6pm, same as Nine.
    TEN??? Zero.

  9. sydpt6 October 29, 2013 at 9:43 am -

David, does this mean that X Factor trumped The Voice in terms of the Finale Winner Announced? If so what a great comeback for a show that was once written off by 10….

  10. bettestreep2008 October 29, 2013 at 9:37 am -

    Ten – seriously???
