I’m just going to admit I wasn’t happy with ABC News on Monday. Although I like Ian Henderson. I guess I’ve just got to get used to not completely trusting television News anymore. I will also admit I used to trust them completely from young childhood into adulthood. I’m out of options but don’t think I’m not disappointed. If it was anything other than Four Corners it would of been a literal turn off.

  2. WolfieBoy October 1, 2013 at 8:46 pm -

Caught up with homeland tonight and it was very good, even without Brodie in it.
    Neighbours did well again.
Not much good news for Ten but times will change. Patience is needed.

  3. joey69 October 1, 2013 at 8:38 pm -

Till there is a change in the sample at OZTam, these ratings will be skewed. No surprise in the figures.

  4. David Knox October 1, 2013 at 7:40 pm -

Don’t see Deal returning. Certainly not with AOK, so why bother?

  5. William October 1, 2013 at 7:06 pm -

I don’t think it will come back and David has been reporting this for a long time now what will 7 do with it

  6. HeyHey_Variety October 1, 2013 at 3:43 pm -

Do you think Deal will come back next year?

  7. David Knox October 1, 2013 at 3:30 pm -

    Deal was 359,000.

  8. David Knox October 1, 2013 at 2:38 pm -

Amazing 80s is short run anyway. AGT moves nights due to NRL Final.

  9. Pertinax October 1, 2013 at 2:03 pm -

The Amazing 80s appears to have worn-out its welcome. Next week Nine has AGT staggered across The X Factor, with BB following up against The Blacklist.

  10. HeyHey_Variety October 1, 2013 at 1:41 pm -

    How has Deal been going?

I think the bad figure for Homeland may have been that people didn’t realise was back on last night. I like Homeland and Elementary and missed both shows, I would of recorded both. Since I knew was going to watch Xfactor and Blacklist didn’t even look at television guide for other channels.

  13. bettestreep2008 October 1, 2013 at 12:15 pm -

Monday nights is a horrible slot for Homeland. It’s a political thriller like Blacklist – no?

And David, surely those Blacklist figures include the usual 20-25 minutes of X Factor over-run?

If not – then Homeland has bombed and will be screening on ONE along with other shows that deserve to be rating better.

Speaking of which, Recipe to riches will be totally destroyed when DWTS premieres tonight. But how many viewers will watch the entire 3 hours 20 minutes + premiere.

Do love the promos though. The slow mo dancing, the white set and the catchy Daft Punk song is a real winner. Well done to the people who produced the promo.

  14. Jason October 1, 2013 at 11:32 am -

Homeland – how many watched it earlier, thanks to TEN, or watched it later, thanks to PVRs? Why does TEN wonder why so few watched it at 8:30? This is where “TBA” morphs into “Homeland Encore”. It won’t be an “encore”. It will be a rerun. But, in all honesty – as said by several – it was boring, nothing, same old same old, and the key player didn’t even appear.

  15. Jas October 1, 2013 at 10:48 am -

It looks like the Julia Gillard interview went ok for News24 at 2.5%. It was interesting and only a little revelatory, as well as a bit of a love in all the same, which was to be expected I guess.

  16. Cynical October 1, 2013 at 10:36 am -

I’d say Big brother picked up a few extra points due to all the Justynn questions, which have been far from answered. There’s a general lack of integrity in the production as a whole this year.

  17. Ronnie October 1, 2013 at 10:22 am -

James Spader was extraordinary in this role while Damian Lewis was nowhere to be seen in Homeland! All Homeland did was show us a lot of things we’ve seen before – particularly Carrie “off her meds” and without Brody to balance the drama it was a bit much. That said, it was a solid season opening episode and deserved better. The vibe inside 10 today would be very low.

  18. Gaz October 1, 2013 at 10:05 am -

The Blacklist was really good. James Spader is perfect for the character he plays. I don’t normally go for far-fetched shows, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  19. mooch October 1, 2013 at 10:03 am -

Poor TEN indeed. What once was a winner doesn’t even cut it anymore. Needed a better lead in, obviously

  20. poss October 1, 2013 at 9:51 am -

Lets face it 3 series of Homeland was never going to work, its way to long and drawn out and they had to bring back the boring daughter again?

Blacklist is OK but if it goes for more than 2 seasons or more than 13 episodes a series it will go the same way.

  21. trev October 1, 2013 at 9:45 am -

I too was thinking, “Where’s Homeland?”. Oh dear, now we know.
Couldn’t agree more with Jezza Mk 1. Homeland’s content unappealing to Aussies and still way too many misguided folk in denial re the disaster that is the TEN Network and the boffins that are guiding it to oblivion.

  22. Guy October 1, 2013 at 9:43 am -

Fantastic numbers for The Blacklist. It was an amazing premiere and hope in the coming weeks keeps the pace of the pilot. X Factor did well too. Poor Homeland though. This was a great episode back too. I didn’t watch it live but watched it later in the night. I guess maybe a lot of others did the same? The show deserves so much more than 443k though. I think this just proves TEN is dead as a brand and in effect its hurting its entire schedule.

  23. savebueller October 1, 2013 at 9:43 am -

TEN could fix themselves right up if they just had a giant idiotic talent show to build their channel back up around. I’m glad Blacklist did well, fast-tracking helping that. Homeland has now become a niche thing to watch though i guess. TEN deserves better though.

  24. jezza the first original one October 1, 2013 at 9:26 am -

Disaster…..gave up on Homeland after S1, it became dragged out and annoying especially the Clare Danes character, yet another mad american. Still Sunday was a little better for ch10. They are finished, it will just take time for folk to realise this. Most are still in the denial phase of the change process (that’s why the poll results are what they are)

  25. smit0847 October 1, 2013 at 9:19 am -

Goodness! I certainly didn’t expect Blacklist to be No 1! I thought Blacklist about 1.2, Homeland 1.0! Im looking own the Top 20 list thinking ‘where’s Homeland?’

David there was such a huge amount of US shows on last night that people would have been torrenting – i.e final ever Breaking Bad. Do you think that would have affected the viewing numbers?

I would expect Shield to do cracking numbers if the Blacklist went that well – I thought James Spader would be too polarising.

  26. Leppie October 1, 2013 at 9:14 am -

Big Brother is actually improving in ratings… that’s so strange.

Usually around half season the ratings drop…

  27. David Knox October 1, 2013 at 9:09 am -

Poor TEN. Homeland was 443,000. Sigh.
