Returning: Law and Order: SVU

Law and Order SVU's season premiere has been described as "haunting, terrifying and Emmy-worthy."

2013-10-01_2234I haven’t seen Law and Order SVU‘s season premiere yet, but judging by some of the reactions in the US this is one to look out for.

It’s been described as “haunting, terrifying and Emmy-worthy” all for the performance of Mariska Hargitay, who has been abducted and is at the mercy of her assailant.

“Surrender Benson”
In the season premiere, hours turn into days, and with no word from Detective Benson, the SVU squad takes drastic measures to find her and her abductor. A trail of murders and rape victims leads them to fear it may be too late.

8:30pm Thursday October 3rd TEN.

  1. Don’t like their sneaking it back on but glad it is being fast tracked 🙂

I agree about the way they ended last season, but they do that often with the ends of the episodes it is stupid

I also agree it will likely be edited, surprised it is going to be airing at the 8.30 timeslot. Is it so we can have both episodes that aired in the US for the premier or will it be just the one episode?

  2. Jason – I watched it with relatives and we were all left stunned. We thought it was obvious that the episode had ended and didn’t find it pathetic at all. It was a harrowing episode.

  3. Katie Couric had Mariska on her show a few weeks back, where they discussed the season opener in length. From the footage that was shown, it certainly was ‘Emmy-worthy’ – Mariska was brilliant.

It would be very disappointing if TEN did decide to edit it.

  4. The way TEN ended the cliffhanger was pathetic. No credits, no promo, nothing. Just crash, bang, into the next program. No one knew the program had actually ended.
