Australia’s first football entertainment show, Thursday FC, launches on SBS 2 on Thursday 10 October showcasing the Hyundai A-League with a host of special guests, interviews and live music acts.

Hosts Matt Okine, Lucy Zelic and David Zdrilic will be joined in studio by Western Sydney Wanderers star Youssouf Hersi, who will test his ball skills against the Harlem Globetrotters, and former Socceroo Ned Zelic will give his thoughts on the upcoming Hyundai A-League season.

Players from Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets will stop by to preview their highly-anticipated opening round clash, while football die-hard and Melbourne Heart fan Vince Colosimo will join his partner-in-crime and Melbourne Victory supporter Nick Giannopoulos for some friendly rivalry ahead of the Melbourne Derby on the weekend.

Hip hop group Justice Crew will launch its new single Everybody with an exclusive live performance. Brisbane indie pop band Sheppard, which has just been announced as part of the Homebake line up, will also perform its single Hold My Tongue. Plus Thursday FC will launch its own house band, the new and energetic pop-rock group Cartoon.

8:30pm Thursday 10 October on SBS 2.

  1. Pity Santo, Sam and Ed are doing a light hearted look at the A-league on Fox Sports instead of SBS. David Zdrilic is the weak link in this line up, he is even bad reading from the auto-cue let alone ad-libbing.

  2. Am looking forward to this first episode of this Thursday. It looks like a good first line-up.

I do hope that they talk more about the sport than the other two Footy Shows… 😉

  3. I may not be the target demographic (whatever that is), but I’m surely part of the potential audience. The advert that SBS are screening for this is no inducement to watch.
