Tully “ashamed” after cheating on girlfriend

"I feel horrible about it," Tully Smyth told Big Brother host Sonia Kruger.

Tully returns to BB - 1Former Big Brother housemate Tully Smyth returned to the eviction stage last night to face up to questions about her relationship with Drew, particularly given social media had been discussing her own status as having a girlfriend on the outside.

Viewers submitted questions which Sonia Kruger put to her, including whether she was ashamed for cheating on her girlfriend.

“Obviously I’m ashamed, it was never my intention. I never thought in a million years that would happen. The fact that I’ve hurt somebody very much that I care about is horrendous and I feel horrible about it,” said Tully.

“There’s nobody that can make me feel worse than I already feel, to be honest.”

She told Kruger her relationship with her girlfriend was now over and she was single again.

At one point it looked as though the teary former housemate was about to crack, but she kept her composure under the grilling.

She also told Kruger she didn’t “downplay” her relationship with Drew on her eviction night, having been uncertain about how much footage had aired.

“I’ve seen a few clips here and there,” she said.

“In some weird way I was trying to respect my ex partner. I didn’t know how much had been shown.

“I would have loved to go into the Diary Room and ask her what’s going on…

“I didn’t know what was being shown so I tried to respect my partner and keep my mouth shut.

“When I came out I realised a lot had been shown… a lot!”

Meanwhile Sugar Sisters Katie and Lucy were evicted last night sending Mykkala, Ben and Jade into tears.

But the optimistic Perth duo remained upbeat about their eviction even dismissing suggestions that some housemates, such as Tahan, had branded them as dumb.

“Obviously that’s upsetting but she’s entitled to her opinion.  We’re very different… she’s on one end of the scale and we’re on the complete opposite end.  We wish her all the best,” they said.

Next up for the show are Nominations and an Intruder eviction for either Boog or Madaline.

  1. I thought it curious that 10 days ago the sisters received the most votes to save, and last night the least. I can’t recall anything happening around them in the week; maybe that’s why they weren’t saved! Right from the early weeks, the agitators and drama creators have been saved. Leaving Mikkayla, Tim, Tahan and to a less extent Jade left to create more suds!

  2. So Sonia asked the questions last night that she should have asked the week before. Problems was, it was a week too late. Viewers have moved on. Shame to see the Sugar Sisters go. They were promoted as bimbos but in reality were two really down to earth, nice girls. How Jade and Mikayla are still in the house baffles me.

  3. I thought she was still largely non-committal, and it’s easy to handle yourself well when you’ve had guidance from psychologists on what to say and time to rehearse. And the issue isn’t so much that she cheated, but that she tortured Drew and twisted everything he said so that he would crawl back to her. In our house we call him Patty Hearst. And I’m sick of these housemates, including Tully, being apparently brave in saying they won’t change, or they need to focus on the positives. Sorry, but life is about taking cues from the majority and considering that maybe you are the problem.

  4. It was a curious addition to the rundown last night. Initially I thought she was returning to the house! I understand she is under an agreement for the duration of the series, but what was in it for her to be given the third degree again? She obviously craves a certain amount of celebrity, but frankly it all painted her as an unfaithful, unthinking and confused young woman. That said she came across very well. I’m not sure what to think about it overall.

  5. Channel 9 are flogging a dead horse, Tully is old news and no one cares.
She had her turn last week after she was evicted, all this did was take up time and push Katie and Lucy out of the limelight, two much nicer girls than Tully!
I just wanted her to hurry up and stop talking so we could get to the drawn out eviction.
