V8s driver David Reynolds, who is dating Big Brother contestant Tahan, has hit back at suggestions he is using his popularity to influence votes for her.

“I have copped it on social media and from bloggers, or maybe they are boggers, saying that I did a deal with Nine to get her on the show,” he told News Corp.

“I read an article this week saying that Channel 7 were also promoting her because they had footage of her on the telecast and mentioned it.”

Reynolds has plugged Tahan to his 10,000 followers.

“I have never heard of rival networks helping each other out. Anyway, I can absolutely say any suggestion that I am rigging votes or part of the Big Brother deal is garbage.’’

  1. Lets be serious why did they bother with this pathetic so called show(WTF)..in bringing it back on Tv.. I mean what a waste of time and a lot of money for a bunch of 15min wannabe nobody’s…the ratings all season have been down. Worse than last year. Surely channel 9 can’t be that stupid in bringing it back next year.. I’ll be praying it won’t come back..

  2. If Tahan wins (and I hope she doesn’t), then it only reinforces what happened last year where the biggest bully wins the show.

Compare this to the UK version where the previous two winners have been a transgendered male (Luke A) and a legally deaf person (Sam). Not that those were the reason they won the show though.

The fact that Tahan has had massive save votes in the last two evictions I think clearly shows either (a) people like the bully, or (b) there is a campaign for people that don’t watch the show to vote for her.

    Tahan wins = I won’t be watching in 2015.

  3. Is he rigging the voting? No. Is he using his influence (including the official V8 Supercars Twitter) to drum up support and keep Tahan in the house? Absolutely. Doesn’t matter at this point, I think TPTB at BB have already decided they want Tahan in until the end.

Personally, if it’s back next year, I’d like to see a return to the days of BB being actual everyday people rather than these semi-kinda-almost celebrities. The early series were the best because people were actually genuine. I miss that.

  4. Both he and Ed’s twin brother have been blatantly trying to influence voting on the outside.
The show died anyway when Ben, the only truly genuinely nice person, got evicted.

  5. This is all just a pathetic attempt at people trying to start rumors and conspiracy theories to try and undermine her chances of winning in favor of their own favorite housemates.

Personally Tahan is my favorite on the show. I like the fact she is honest. Like everyone she has good and bad traits. However she is honest and owns them. Unlike other house mates who are massive hypocrites. Who will complain about her but do the same things and much much worse. Thankfully the biggest offender Mikayla left last week.

    I hope she wins!

  6. I don’t see how Nine can have the intruders still there with 2 weeks to go. If i was a housemate i would have voted them out weeks ago. Can’t stand Boog she has stopped me from watching BB.

  7. His twitter feed shows his true character…slagging off another contestant isn’t very sportsmanlike…but I guess they deserve one another….she is queen of the mean girls,. but I think BB has crowned her the winner already,. my tip for the biggest winner of the series is Ben, who is receiving rockstar treatment wherever he goes

  8. It’s funny that people are bitching about this i wonder if Jade or even Mikkayla had this big fan base helping with votes people would have made such a fush I think Not
When your so outspoken as Tahan & don’t hind like others do your always going to get haters.
Again i really do hope either Tim or Tahan win atleast they have been fun all the way through

  9. alvar: Plus Tim was a host of Southern Cross Broadcasting’s television chart show Hit List and an announcer on Nova.

Also ast year in November Tim was the DJ that people were talking about who streaked through the singer Rihanna’s tour plane ..,

  10. To be fair, Tahan is not the only housemate who would have a big voting influence on the outside. Heidi had the radio station, Ed has his footy club, Tully had her social media background, Jade, Tully Matt and Tahan were/are models…

  11. Really people……who really cares about Big Brother. If he can use his “fame” to get more votes isn’t he doing just what every one else does.

  12. Tahan is awesome, entertaining and honest. Of course he can get votes for her, he has a right to do that just like any other contestants loved one. There is no rule in BB that states one contestants loved one can’t get alot of votes for their housemate. Tahan has a big following. She, Tim & Boogs are making the show at the moment. Jade, Ed & Maddy are just so boring. Jade is rude and nasty person “I just don’t understand why Australia wants the horrible people left in here” Well Jade, your still in the house. Jade to go this week, can’t stand her. Save Tahan & Boog.

  13. Also I think we have to take into account what the general public seem to be thinking; if you watched (or can rewatch) the last Eviction show with Mikkayla going, after it happens Ed and Jade are huddled together away from everyone else and Jade says words to the affect of:

“How come the public keep voting for the horrible people to stay?”

You hear the audience ooh, ahh and booh at what is said; the general public seem to be seeing those types of things as being nasty behaviour, so maybe they’re taking that type of thing as being behind people’s backs and voting against that type of thing.

  14. I vote for her every week! She has a massive following on social media and forums too. People love her honesty and she’s entertaining.

Compared with dull Ken and Barbie, Tim and Tahan make the show interesting.

  15. @carolemorrissey The #SaveTahan sticker was on the inside of the car when they went to that view from behind the driver inside (was only way you saw it and happened about 3 times for about 1-2 minutes each).

Tahan was in one of The Bottle-O Ads during a commercial break as she used to be a Bottle-O Grid Girl. Seven never mentioned anything about her both times … granted it is a long race and I may have missed it if it did happen, however I doubt it.

Sure perhaps the V8 Supercar Family who spend a lot of time together may be voting for her, however that is far from rigging it. Also doubt the other Grid Girls are voting her, as Tahan has said on the show she never got along very well with them. Perhaps Reynolds has enough money to vote many times, however that is about as far as it could go, he’s only doing the same as other friends and family are on Twitter.

  16. He’s full of it. Apparently he was wearing a helmet saying ‘save Tahan’ during the race. She is a nasty horrible person and has had the most votes to save the last 2 times.
