Cast members from Nine’s Love Child gathered for a media screening at the Dendy Cinemas, Circular Quay last night.
In attendance were (pictured L to R) Mandy McElhinney, Ella Scott Lynch, Miranda Tapsell, Sophie Hensser plus Maya Stange and Andrew McFarlane.
They were joined by Playmaker’s David Maher, Drama execs Jo Rooney and Andy Ryan, Director of Television Michael Healy and Head of Programming and Production Andrew Backwell.
The first episode demonstrated this is buoyed by a strong ensemble, notably Jessica Marais, Sophie Hensser and Mandy McElhinney.
Period street scenes filmed at FOX Studios looked very convincing and the show revels in its 60s soundtrack. But it’s the story based on events in our recent history that is the real hook.
For a Nine show this one feels almost like it could fit on the ABC. It will air in early 2014.
Full review to come later.

Same @The Moops. Hoping David will tell us otherwise.
Yes. Rather melodramatic. Almost expect the line “a dingo’s got my baby!”
I really hope this is not going to be some “fluff” piece. This subject affected so many woman back in the time, and is still having a ripple affect today.
Not sure about this one. I’ve seen the lengthy trailer a few times and it looks a bit too soapy for my tastes.
