Management parts with Charlotte Dawson

Chic Management has parted company with Charlotte Dawson, telling her "Your brand is no longer seen as aspirational."

2013-09-13_0014Chic Management has parted company with Charlotte Dawson according to a message she posted on social media.

The message suggested “many of the opinions you express” and “the intimate insights into your personal life” are hurting the company’s ability to sell Dawson’s “brand”.

“We believe it is making it extremely difficult for Chic to generate business for you,” the message reads. “Your brand is no longer seen as aspirational.”

But Dawson hit back.

“WTF? Brand? I’m a human & I share my highs & lows to relate to everyone? Is this what management has come to? Disgraceful,” she replied.

The exchange follows social media posts earlier this week in which she posted a photo of a drip in her hand from hospital, following a panic attack. She had been engaged in heated Twitter exchanges prior.

“I’m still in hospital but I’m about to leave – I feel 100 per cent to fly to Melbourne first thing for the Cup and need to get my hat sorted,” she said .

“I had to be calmed and put on a drip and breathe and be still.”

In September her contract with Foxtel was not renewed and she announced she was ending a media career to focus on real estate.

  1. @Julie S – I only heard about her when she was on that show Apprentice Australia.
Never heard of her before or since, so I guess her management were never doing a great job anyway.

  2. Oh this anti-social media crap has a lot to answer for. Close your accounts, Charlotte. Stop putting photos of your cannula online. But Twitter and Facebook is so addictive to most people it’s like a drug.
Call me old-fashioned but I really have no interest in knowing what other people are doing, in the finest detail, 24/7.

  3. Charlotte needs to step away from Twitter. Seriously, she needs to forget it exists. Whilst it is a fantastic tool for the vast majority of celebrities, it just isn’t working for her. I thought she quit Twitter after all that drama last year when she was hospitalised for depression. She needs to delete her account ASAP. I agree that her management company has been insensitive and I absolutely hate how celebs are now referred to as a “brand”. Uggh. Anyway, she is leaving the media to go into real estate, so she no longer needs a management company. I’d put this behind myself if I was her, and focus on the real estate career. She has had a good run, but all good things eventually come to an end.

  4. I thought Charlotte had left Twitter as well. Social media can be very addictive and does not suit everyone. It must be hard for celebrities to look at some of the stuff people write about them on Twitter as it can be pretty vile.

  5. There is so much to this story and as I have watched it over the last 3 years,I’m surprised this situation has not happened earlier.Yes, she has a mental illness but she often puts herself in harm’s way and then goes on twitter with an often bad outcome. She seems to not understand the things that bring on her demons and then medical people intervene. She did make the statement that she was going into Real estate, but that was made public once her contract was not renewed for her Pay TV Model show.I wish she had an influence around her on how to stay healthy, mentally, and stay off “Twitter” permanently. It seems to bring out the worst in her and the people that enjoy tormenting her. I wish her well.

  6. I have never been a fan of Ms. Dawsons and for the life of me, why broadcast photos of yourself in hospital with a drip in your arm one day, bleating about your fragile mental state and in the same breath singing about your hat and heading off to Melbourne for the cup.
Once again Charlotte is craving media coverage.
I do feel sorry for anyone that gets attacked by trolls. I believe Charloote gets attacked but I also think Charlotte does a lot of attacking.
Recently I have been attacked unmercilessly on an otherwise very friendly reality TV site I have been writing on for over a year. It has made me ill, sad and I know has turned people against me.
Why can these evil people be allowed to get away with this?

  7. It’s all very ‘look at me!’. Why do we need to know she needed sedation in hospital?

Didn’t she say she’d quit Twitter after her last hospital stay?

  8. Yes, I feel sorry for her too, she’s been through a lot, its no fun being hounded on social media by a bully who makes it their mission to blacken your character.
She needs a break. The management needs to be more understanding.

  9. Yeah I saw her Tweet about that yesterday and some Tweets earlier in the week about being in hospital and trolls. This seems to happen to her a lot. Bit shabby of her management to treat her like that and not support her.
