Nine teases Love Child, The Block, Gap Year South America.

Nine took the opportunity during its Big Brother finale to promote Love Child, The Block "Fans v Faves", Gap Year South America and Schapelle.

lchildNine took the opportunity during its Big Brother finale last night to promote some of its 2014 content.

Sonia Kruger confirmed the return of Big Brother next year -not wholly unexpected given the response to this year’s show. Nine is already asking for audition registration.

Kruger also introduced our first look at the Love Child trailer, Nine’s new drama featuring Jessica Marais, Jonathan LaPaglia, Mandy McElhinney and Ryan Corr. First impressions were good.

The rather secretive Schapelle project was also out in the open more. Of late Nine has not been willing to disclose any details, mindful of Corby’s impending release and some rabid devotees getting wind of filming. There has also been whispers of a title change, but last night it seemed to be staying.

There were two big reveals from Nine.

One is that the next season of The Block is a “Fans v Faves” edition -an idea first spawned on Survivor. The series is currently filming in Albert Park, Melbourne.

The other was the return of Hamish & Andy, now back for Gap Year South America.

In July while discussing Gap Year Asia, Hamish Blake told TV Tonight, ““Hame and I definitely want to travel again next year and then I think we’ll weigh things up after that as to whether this series continues.”

  1. They did a promo for Love Child during the Logies and I liked the look of it then. Had thought it would be on this year, but seems to have been put back. Hamish & Andy should be good too in South America.

  2. I’m interested to watch all of these shows very much looking forward to fans vs faves on the Block and I immediately thought of Survivor when I heard the title. I wonder who the faves would be?? Hopefully not Josh & Jenna or Dan & Dani they had their turn, twice.

  3. I don’t understand why they don’t gave big brother on tonight when they could interview Tim and give him the time that all other housemates get on the other side. Same thing happens in sports. All the footy shows have their grand final before real grand final and here ends up being no analysis of the grand final itself

  4. Look, while I thought the ad for Love Child looked great and I’ll definitely watch it (History teacher, so it’s right up my alley) – did we really need a preview that long? Especially considering they spoke to Tim for about 4.5 seconds after he won – wasn’t that the purpose of the show, to announce the winner?!?!
