Mark Webber has revealed he is already eyeing a win at Le Mans next year ahead of leaving Formula One at the end of the season this month, admitting: “I can’t turn racing off and just finish.”

Speaking during an exclusive interview on Revealed, With Hugh Riminton, the Australian racing ace said he has no regrets about retiring from Formula One without a world championship to his name and opened up on his rivalry with teammate Sebastian Vettel, declaring: “A cheetah never changes its spots.”

The 37-year-old driver goes on to share an insight into his intensive fitness regime, which includes competing with tennis champ Pat Rafter and Olympic gymnast Brennon Dowrick in a beach boot camp.

  1. @JoshS – True about Stoner, but Ten should do highlights of each race over his career at F1. Ten does have the rights to Le Mans 24 Hr which expires end at the end of this year. Mark Webber races in the WEC I believe before he entered F1.

  2. William, Stoner was a multiple world champion in the highest level of prototype motorcycle racing.

Webber has never, in any series, won a championship. Ever.

What TEN should do is use his popularity to promote his endurance racing. Make a bigger fuss out of Le Mans, where he is an absolute chance to fight for the win.

  3. Given he signed with Porsche in June, I hardly think his Le Mans dreams are a ‘revelation’. As for his fitness regime, his biggest challenge is staying under 80 kilos for 11 months of the year, when the rest of the field is under 70 (and shorter than him too). As per the photo, he needs a decent meal followed by a bowl of ice cream.
