The Blacklist, Bones: update

The Blacklist is out due to US pre-emptions next Monday night replaced by a new episode of Bones.

2013-10-21_1202The Blacklist is out due to US pre-emptions next Monday night replaced by a new episode of Bones.

This follows a new Bones episode this Sunday too.

However Seven has confirmed there will actually be two new Blacklist episodes screening in December, during non-ratings, as part of a two-part storyline.

  1. If I remember correctly, when Seven aired Flash Forward prior to the US that week, NBC was not happy about it and suddenly people from the US were downloading the show sourced from Australia.

  2. @danny How is Sunday nights problematic for 7…Downton Abbey, Sunday Night, X Factor, APTCH have all done well on this night…they keep Bones/Castle there for when there is nothing else to show and creates some consistency for those show retaining some extra viewers

  3. I appreciate programming schedules are compiled by networks six months in progress but Seven should hold off airing premium, first-run US content during the Summer non-ratings period. There would be enough new episodes of “The Blacklist” ready for syndication come February 2014, and while many would argue this isn’t doable due to the near certainty of “Revenge” occupying the Monday 8:30pm timeslot, the latter can and should be moved to Sunday night where it rightfully belongs, especially as this is Seven’s ratings problematic night of the week.

  4. There isn’t much to The Blacklist beyond the interaction between Spader and Boone and the break would give viewers getting tired of it an excuse to drop it.

But I can’t see it losing too many viewers though. Where are they going to go? To Homeland in the middle of S3, a current affairs programme or a sitcom?

Seven are the mercy of NBC, nothing they can do about it anyway.

  5. This isn’t going to end well for The Blacklist. These weeks off are proving fatal to import dramas, and then important episodes during a period where no one is watching tv won’t help.
I was hoping 7 could get away with airing it before NBC given it was a last minute change from them, that’s what happened with Flashforward.

  6. Good news that Seven will air the final 2 episodes of the year. I thought Seven might do what Canadian channels do every week and bring it to us before the US but i guess not.
