Former Today Tonight exec producer joins TEN

Former Executive Producer of Today Tonight John Choueifate has been appointed by TEN as Director of News, Sydney.

2013-12-02_1540Former Executive Producer of Today Tonight John Choueifate has been appointed by TEN as Director of News, Sydney.

He will be responsible for TEN Eyewitness News Sydney and the servicing of national bulletins and segments produced in Sydney.

Choueifate left Today Tonight in June, but has previously been State Producer at Seven Network, and Director of News and Chief of Staff at Nine Network Sydney. He worked at TEN from 1988 to 1991, including as Chief of Staff and Foreign Editor.

TEN Chief Executive Officer, Hamish McLennan, said: “We are very pleased that John has agreed to come back to TEN.

“He is one of the best News and Current Affairs executives in the country and will bring his vast experience and contacts to TEN Eyewitness News and our Sydney newsroom.”

“I’m excited to be returning to the Network where I began my television career,” Choueifate said. “TEN already delivers a quality bulletin and with the support of the team, which I hold in high regard, I want to take it to the next level. The emphasis will be on breaking more stories, local issues and more investigations.”

He will join TEN on December 16th.
