Molly joins MAX

Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum will become a new host on the MAX music channel in 2014.

Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum, will become a new host on the music channel in 2014 alongside current presenters, Jane Gazzo, Chit Chat and James Reyne.

Meldrum will host a range of programs including a count down of the Top 100 Greatest Australian Songs Of All Time, chosen by Aussie musos, to air on Australia Day.

He will be officially welcomed to the MAX team at a Foxtel Music Channels event held in Sydney tomorrow night with performances from Alicia Keys and Rudimental’s DJ Locksmith.

Shaun James, General Manager Music Channels, “When it comes to talking music, Molly is among this country’s best. He’s interviewed absolutely everyone and his stockpile of stories and experiences is insurmountable. It goes without saying, he’ll be a fantastic addition to the MAX family and we can’t wait to start working with him.”

Meldrum has previously been a presenter for MTV Australia.

  1. Wonder how long it took Foxtel to realise that they couldn’t drop MTV Classic without putting an Australian icon out in the cold. Great to see they picked him up, but too bad for MTV Classic to lose a key person after everything else.
