Studio 10, Wake Up highlights added to weekends

TEN is hoping to gain a little more attention to its new morning shows by adding content to weekends.

L To R Jessica Rowe, Sarah Harris, Ita Buttrose and Joe Hildebrand from Studio 10TEN is hoping to gain a little more attention to its new morning shows by adding content to weekends.

From this weekend, Studio 10 will run a “best of” show from 8.30-11.00am, however it will also contain highlights from Wake Up.

Of course Sunrise and Today actually broadcast live weekend bulletins so I’m not sure this is necessarily the right message.

  1. I have just read David’s report on Adam Boland’s condition and cannot believe he could possibly be capable of retaining his position with 10. I truly sympathise with him and wish him all the best, but business is business unfortunately.
As for the two turkeys he has inflicted on the viewing public, there is no way they are going to be around much longer, despite the laughable spin from those who should know better and from some who obviously know nothing.
How in Heaven’s name can you have a ‘best of’ show for something as appalling as Wake Up and Studio 10 both are?

  2. Still think Wake Up has promise. James is probably a bit too casual, but I think that’s just his style. In the summer ‘non ratings’ time, James needs to get some training to be able to think on his feet a bit more. I see his strengths in commentary on music and arts as opposed to ‘big’ issues and that’s maybe where Natarsha fits who has form on reading autocue and an eye for ‘news’ bites.

Maybe the weekend editions could be hosted from Melbourne and give Nuala (and Melbourne!) a bit more of a go…

  3. I would have thought that a program presented at a beach would have live editions on the weekend – when most people attend the beach – as a priority. The Saturday morning show – for example – could have features about surf carnivals over the weekend and details about enrolling your kids in the nippers. But all that potential over summer has gone begging with the time spent on the weekend shows rehashing old stuff, in some cases almost a week old.

All in all Wake Up has been a huge disappointment and Studio 10 is even worse with its large block of unbroken advertorial content after the first hour. It appears that Adam Boland’s wunderkind reputation has evaporated.

  4. Cant wait, i’ve actually DVR’d every ep since the pilot and watch it in the evening over dinner. The chemistry between the panel has grown so much since the start. Joe and Sarah have formed a little relationship behaving like the naughty kids, jess is the teenager acting sensible but laughing at the silly jokes while Ita tries to keep Joe in line.Try watching an entire morning before you judge it harshly just because its on ch10.
