The six part drama from actor-writer Ray McKinnon, is the first original drama produced for the Sundance Channel in the US.

The cast also includes Abigail Spencer (Oz the Great and Powerful, Mad Men), J. Smith-Cameron (First Wives Club, True Blood), Clayne Crawford (A Walk To Remember), and Luke Kirby (Take This Waltz).

SBS will air the series in its 9:30 Thursday night slot.

Rectify has already been approved for a second season.

Rectify tells the chilling tale of Daniel Holden (Aden Young), who after 19 years in prison for the rape and murder of his girlfriend, is released when new DNA evidence reveals he was wrongly accused. He returns home to a small town in the US state of Georgia to find new challenges including new family members and a community divided. Daniel is haunted by the past, dogged by the present, and uncertain of the future. As he struggles to adapt to his new life, his homecoming reignites the fears of the folks in his community and threatens to shatter his family’s fragile peace.

Thursday, 6 February at 9.35pm on SBS ONE.

  1. Always thought Aden Young would ‘make it’ after seeing him in Black Robe all those years ago….well it didn’t really happen for him.
    Maybe it will happen now with this show? It gets good reviews from what I’ve seen.
