New Director of Programming at FremantleMedia

FremantleMedia Australia has internally promoted Jonathon Summerhayes as its new Director of Programming.

He replaces Tim Clucas who departed in December after 4 years, as revealed by TV Tonight.

Summerhayes has been an Executive Producer on The X Factor, and Producer on MasterChef, The Biggest Loser and Big Brother (for Southern Star).

He now oversees all of FremantleMedia Australia’s entertainment and factual programming.

“This is a leadership position for the company, not just locally,” CEO Ian Hogg told The Australian.

“It’s a forward-facing role domestically but also internationally. He’s a brilliant show maker and it’s been proven over the last few years with The X Factor.”

Meanwhile Beth Hart, an Executive Producer on the UK productions of The X Factor, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! and Hell’s Kitchen is appointed as Director of Television Content, reporting to Summerhayes.

She will focus on new and existing entertainment brands, including Australia’s Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Grand Designs, Recipe to Riches and The Apprentice.

Quiz show Mastermind is said to have commissioned by the ABC.
