SKY News: Australia Day coverage

SKY News has non-stop coverage of celebrations, including a special edition of Paul Murray Live.

2014-01-24_1720SKY News has non-stop coverage of celebrations around the nation tomorrow, from 6am until late night.

This includes a special edition of Paul Murray Live from Young, NSW.

From 6am, National Affairs Correspondent Celina Edmonds will anchor the Australia Day celebrations Live from the Sydney Opera House.

From 7am, Live interviews from Canberra with the Australian of the Year, Young and Senior Australians of the Year and Local Hero.

At 7:40am coverage of the Aboriginal WugulOra and flag raising ceremony on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

From 9am, Live coverage of the 10k Wheelchair Race with SKY News SportsNight anchor James Bracey followed by a special edition of Sportsline.

At 10am SKY News will take viewers Live to Canberra for the Flag Raising and Australian citizenship ceremony.

Throughout the day Live reports from the SKY News reporters around the country showcasing celebrations in all states.

Throughout the afternoon Australia Day Live continues before crossing to the annual Darling Harbour fireworks display from 8:30pm.

At 9pm a special edition of Paul Murray Live from the regional town of Young, NSW. Following his role as 2014 Australia Day ambassador for the town, Paul will present the show Live from the Young Services Club and joined on the panel by Mayor of Young, Stuart Freudenstein, the Young Citizen of the Year recipient, Janine Perrett and from Melbourne, Peter Reith.

Paul said: “I’ve always wanted to take the show on the road and I wanted the first destination to be the real Australia. Young is one of those towns where everyone works hard, plays hard and most importantly gets along.”

A-PAC Australia’s Public Affairs Channel will have encore presentations of Australia Day events through the day.
