Exclusive: Director of Programming at FremantleMedia Australia has departed after 4 years, on amicable terms.

2014-01-08_1336EXCLUSIVE: Tim Clucas, Director of Programming at FremantleMedia Australia, has departed after 4 years with the company.

Clucas, who has overseen entertainment and factual productions including The X Factor, Australia’s Got Talent, Grand Designs Australia and Celebrity Apprentice, told CEO Ian Hogg he was looking to move on just before Christmas.

In  a statement Ian Hogg said: “Tim Clucas is moving on from his position of Director of Programming.

” Tim has been with FMA for four years and he will be missed by many, me included.

“A replacement will be announced in the New Year.

“Tim is going to take a break, refresh, and pursue new career challenges.

“We all wish Tim well with the next chapter of his life.”

Yesterday Clucas told TV Tonight it was an amicable departure.

“The nature of independent production tends to be trying to find hit shows and keep making them. The business has changed so much just in the four years I’ve been there and I just want to stretch my wings a little,” he said.

“I thought coming up to the end of the year was a good time to have a conversation and we had a good conversation.

“I think the (TV) business in the next twelve months is going to be a massively different business and I’m pretty excited about where it’s going.”

Clucas, who has previously held roles with Network TEN, Beyond Productions and the Nine Network, acknowledged he is now on a standard “gardening leave” but that “I’m able to have the conversations with Fremantle if there’s something I want to do.”
