2014-01-13_2349More ‘changes’ in Breakfast Television today….

After announcing she would be leaving ABC News Breakfast, Virginia Trioli will now stay on with co-host Michael Rowland in Melbourne.

Chris Uhlmann will host ABC Radio’s AM, the programme Trioli was due to begin in Sydney, from Monday, February 10.

An ABC statement indicates Trioli has decided she is unable to present AM “for family reasons.” This comes despite recent statements indicating “Now that my body clock is permanently set to a 3am alarm, the move seems just right.”

Her permanent replacement had not been announced.

Tony Eastley will also be moving into his new position hosting on ABC News 24 from mid-February.

Director of News Kate Torney said: “I’m really looking forward to the high quality broadcast journalism Virginia, Tony and Chris will all bring to their respective programs in 2014.”

  1. Curiouser and curiouser. I think Uhlmann will be good, although he may constrained as a presenter. Hope he is allowed to do interviews. I presume he is still working on the Rudd-Gillard documentary?
