Grant Bowler guest at Syfy channel launch

Actor Grant Bowler was guest of honour at a Syfy Channel launch at Aqua restaurant in Sydney last week.

Bowler, who stars in one of the channel’s premium titles Defiance, was joined by NBC Universal Television’s Australian CEO Chris Taylor, Foxtel’s Director of Television Brian Walsh, Syfy Marketing Director Shannon Most and Foxtel’s General Manager, Magazine and Platform Communications Rhonda Dawson.

Haunting Australia‘s resident psychic Rayleen Kable was on hand to give free readings and was in demand by curious guests (including more than a few journos!).

Bowler, who lives most of the year in the US, was quietly confident Defiance would get picked up for a new season, which usually films each August in chilly Toronto. But he was also grateful filming had completed before the polar vortex hit.

Syfy, which launched on January 1st, also screens first run Haven, Misfits and Warehouse 13 in Australia.
