Maria Menounos tipped to exit Extra

Extra co-host, Maria Menounos is set to exit the US entertainment show amid rumors she clashed with Mario Lopez.

New York’s Page Six has speculated Menounos’ contract is up and isn’t being renewed, quoting an unnamed source saying, “Maria and Mario barely even speak to each other.”

But another source insisted it was Lopez who had the bigger ego, adding, “Maria’s contract is up and she has decided to move on. She is deciding between a number of other opportunities.”

A representative for Extra said, “We don’t comment on talent contracts or negotiations.”

Menounos joined Extra as a co-host in 2011, reporting with Lopez from Universal Studios in Hollywood.

Menounos’ spokesman declined to comment.

The show has aired in Australia on Nine.
