2014-03-25_1330Nostalgic TV viewers, look out for a shot of 1970s yoga TV star Swami Sarasvati in tomorrow night’s episode of Puberty Blues.

Her TV show can be glimpsed playing on a television screen in a living room tomorrow night.

Swami Sarasvati was a ground-breaking yoga guru on TEN during the ’70s, long before the fitness craze came to television through Richard Simmons, Aerobics Oz Style and Jane Fonda home videos.

Loving Puberty Blues‘ attention to detail. It’s another good ep this week.

Times are tough for Debbie and Sue. Trapped at boarding school, Debbie is outraged to discover that Cheryl is living in her room. Back in Cronulla, Sue, not ready to make her “relationship” with Woody public, is forced to spend more time with Cheryl and Vicki.

While Gary’s mother might be happy to have his father Ferris back, Gary is appalled at the humiliation he dishes out to her. Yvonne is appalled at herself, but she still can’t bring herself to break up with Graham. But Ferris is a competitive man. His determination to reclaim what’s rightfully his – his wife – leads to a violent confrontation in the club’s car park.

Things aren’t going too well for Martin. He’s distraught when his colleague Annie’s body is washed up on the rocks. Did she commit suicide? His grief threatens to overwhelm him, but he can’t share his grief, or his guilt, even with Judy.

At school, Mr Candy is having trouble controlling his class, especially with rumours of his relationship with Vicki circulating wildly.

8:30pm Wednesday on TEN.

  1. Oh, I remember Swami.
Yes, love PB’s meticulous arttention to detail, right down to what they’re watching on telly and the posters of Deb Harry and Abba on the girl’s bedroom walls.
They’re normally spot on but one little anomoly I noticed a couple of weeks back was an Air Supply album in one of the girls’ record collection.
No self respecting “cool” teenage girl at that time would have been caught dead with such a daggy, smaltzy band in their record collection !
(Unless it was mum’s or dad’s which would have been unlikely to be anywhere near their kid’s music collection).

  2. I was obsessed with Swami, i have a photo of myself aged three or four, copying her in front of our tv. Talk about a blast from the past. Thanks David, although you are dating yourself too with that reference.:)
