The Biggest Loser: makeover time

TV loves a good makeover, and this week it's time for The Biggest Loser to sprinkle the magic.

2014-03-18_2327Whether it’s people or homes, TV loves a good makeover, and this week it’s time for The Biggest Loser to sprinkle the magic.

There are two “makeover” episodes, one tonight and the other at 8:30pm on Friday.

It’s the elimination aftermath and with only nine contestants remaining, it’s time for the trainers to pick the three contestants they will each train until the finale.

The first training session of the week comes in the form of a tug-of-war, with all three teams getting down and dirty, leaving one team standing as victor.

Right when the contestants are looking their most muddy, nine tuxedo wearing men file down the driveway carrying a beautiful gift box for each contestant. Each contestant opens their gifts to reveal a mirror and formal invitation to a makeover.

The next day the contestants wake to find the lounge room has been transformed into a giant styling suite. Celebrity stylist Henry Roth and a team of hair and makeup artists get straight to work helping each contestant transform themselves.

Unbeknown to the contestants, their family and friends are travelling from Ararat to The Biggest Loser house to witness their makeovers in a surprise visit that will no doubt leave the contestants in shock.

7:30pm tonight on TEN.

  1. I’m just watching it now. I gotta ask, why would you project the image of themselves in their new makeover look, up on a screen 3 times as big as the actual person???? They look like they’ve put on weight not lost it.

  2. Looking forward to this.
It’s great to see how far the contestants have come.
Thanks Ten for airing the second episode on Friday night as that is usually a dvd night for me.

  3. Am unconvinced this will rate – If TBL hasn’t rated all season then it’s unlikely people will tune into this … reality overload, ten ……

  4. From what I saw on the add last night I think I’ll be giving this a miss. I remember when makeover eps where a big deal but it looks like they’ve just put a couple of ugly doors at the end of the weigh in set and shot it at the house. I don’t know who’s in charge of the look of the show but it really has been looking cheaper and cheaper the last few years. It use to be innovative but lately it looks like they just wheel out the same old props for every challenge. Put a couple of TBL banners up and they think its done. Really time to approach this show with new eyes.
