2014-03-16_0127More Australians have been cast in new US TV roles.

Melissa George will join The Hunted for the ABC Network.

She plays the second female lead in the Dangerous Liaisons-esque drama starring Rufus Sewell.

Set in New York City, the drama revolves around the love and rivalry between two equally matched, powerful socialites who play out their obsessive attraction to and seduction of each other through their manipulation of others.

George will play Margot Worth Cole, a beautiful woman whose power, style and intellect command attention the instant she enters a room.

She recently appeared in The Good Wife, coming up on TEN.

Meanwhile Anthony LaPaglia joins an untitled terrorism drama, by Nikki Toscano/Kerry Ehrin, for CBS.

It centres on retired CIA operative-turned-high school football coach who is pulled back into action after a terrorist event rocks Washington, D.C., and he’s forced to investigate closer to home, where the next generation of terrorists are being bred.

LaPaglia will star as Coach Holden Weller, the coach/athletic director in Virginia whose commitment to his job nearly cost him his family. Shanley Caswell and Aimee Garcia co-star.

Without a Trace had a five year run on CBS.

  1. Glad to see Anthony LaPaglia’s got another gig – funny I was just thinking about him last night – wondering how difficult it is to get another gig after a long running show. Some are never seen again, which is why you should save every cent until you’re well and truly established. Sock away the big $ while you can !

  2. A reminder that Melissa George had been the lead actor of the series called Hunted.

Wonder this had any influence on her casting in the unrelated The Hunted.

  3. I think both these pilots sound interesting to me; I’m a fan of Cruel Intentions (based of Dangerous Liaisons) so I’m interested to see how The Hunted goes!
