The Easter In WA peeks into three celebrity gardener’s backyards – Justin Langer legendary Australian cricketer, Nine Perth’s Michael Thomson and comedian Peter Rowsthorn who look for expert gardening advice from Trevor Cochrane in this one-hour special.

A highlight of the program features a massive $10,000 edible garden make-over competition for viewers featuring some amazing fruit trees including mangoes, dwarf growing summer fruit trees and even blueberries. Details of the competition will be revealed on the show.

The program covers the important tasks to undertake during the Easter weekend and looks at laying a lawn using the world’s most popular Buffalo grass variety and eradicating weeds safely and easily.

Respected landscaper Darren Seinor shares his expert advice on how to avoid landscaping pitfalls. Chris Ferreira is an award winning environmental educator who shares his tips on soil improvement using materials that will change soil quality for the better – forever. He also visits Kings Park to get the lowdown on WA’s native beauties from the Parks Curator, together they share 5 sensational plants all West Aussie gardens should have.

Trevor heads off for an edible feast at WA’s leading fruit tree nursery and then sets up herb planters to die for which would make a brilliant weekend project.

Trevor also visits the home of a Mandurah couple who have transformed their garden into a tropical oasis that would rival any Balinese garden. For anyone gardening on our challenging coastal sand plain it’s advice you can’t miss.
