Doris Day turns 90

Evergreen film and television actress Doris Day has turned 90 with every indication she is still loving life.

“Oh, I have my little aches and pains now and then, like everyone,” she recently told Closer. “But I’ve truly been blessed with good health.”

Day, who has a long CV of credits including The Doris Day Show which ran from 1968-1973, now likes spending her time reading fan mail she still gets.

“I’m still floored by all the beautiful, heartwarming letters from people all over the world, telling me that my work somehow touched their lives,” she said.

“I love to be outside, walking along the beach or working in my garden,” she added. “Those things are all quite enjoyable for me. I have everything I could ever want right here in Carmel (California)!”

Day has shunned showbiz for many years but remained active in animal welfare.

She will celebrate her 90th birthday, hosting a dog fashion show for her Doris Day Animal Foundation.
