Seth Meyers to host Emmy Awards

US Late Night host Seth Meyers will host the Emmy Awards, to be held on August 25th.

Meyers, who was a head writer on Saturday Night Live prior to hosting Late Night with Seth Meyers for NBC, has previously hosted the ESPY Awards on ESPN, and the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

Paul Telegdy, from NBC Entertainment, said “Seth’s expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at SNL, as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera, makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys.”

The awards were moved to a Monday this year to avoid a conflict with Sunday Night Football and should air in Australia on Tuesday August 26th on Foxtel.
