Seven News: Royal Tour, ANZAC Day

Seven News begins rolling coverage of the 10 day Royal Tour, plus ANZAC Day broadcast info.

2014-04-16_1247Seven News will have its cameras locked on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today when they arrive in Sydney with rolling coverage of their 10-day visit beginning at 2pm.

Mark Ferguson and Melissa Doyle will cover the tour for Seven, with highlights in 6pm news bulletins.

ANZAC Day coverage will include the Canberra War Memorial, Gallipoli, and Villers-Bretonneux including reports from Chris Bath, Hugh Whitfeld and guest reporter Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith VC, MG.

From Sydney Airport to the Blue Mountains, Manly and Uluru, our team of experienced reporters led by Seven News anchor Mark Ferguson will be with Prince William and Catherine every step of the way as they commence their first official tour as a family with eight-month-old Prince George.

Seven News special coverage begins today from 2pm AEST with Mark Ferguson and Melissa Doyle live from the Royal couple’s first reception at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Then join Mark Ferguson live from the Blue Mountains on Thursday April 17 from 1pm AEST and again on Good Friday at the Sydney Royal Easter Show from 10.30am AEST.

Rolling news coverage will continue for all 10 days of the Royal Tour, with Seven News’ extensive team of presenters and reporters live in the field at key tour locations as well as in studio.

And each day, Seven News at 6pm AEST will have a full wrap up of the Royal Tour as well as the day’s other news.

Extensive Royal Tour coverage continues to ANZAC Day with Seven News live to Melissa Doyle at the Canberra War Memorial from 10am AEST, where the Royal couple will attend the official ANZAC Day march and commemorative service.

Chris Bath will host live coverage from the ANZAC Day commemorative service in Gallipoli from 1pm AEST, with additional reporting from Seven News video journalist Hugh Whitfeld in Villers-Bretonneux and feature stories by guest reporter Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith VC, MG.

  1. 7 News always seem to cover major events thoroughly and always have reporters in all the major places where things are happening, why do people keep rubbishing them, so other channels may cover the same thing its just the matter of preference for the viewer. 7 news may be lagging 9 in a couple of states but the remaining ones definitely belong to 7.

  2. 7 act as if they are the only network covering all this news. I’m sure 9 will be covering everything as well. They covered the Royals arriving this afternoon at 2 as well.

  3. My sources suggest that ANZAC Day AFL between Collingwood and Essendon will be Live on Seven Nationwide from 12:30pm AEST, with the game commencing at 2:40pm, so I would assume that the Dawn Services from Gallipoli and Villers-Bretonneux will be on 7TWO, but with the above info… all that could change.

V8 Supercars are also on that weekend. 3 days of coverage, with Friday’s Qualifying & Race airing Live from 10am-12:30pm AEST on 7mate right around Australia!

  4. We’ve never had this scale coverage of a Royal Tour… whats the big deal about this Royal Tour when compared to other Royal Tours in years gone by?

  5. Gees…this republic idea is sounding better and better. Thanks that we have other channels and DVDs. More interested in what’s on at ICAC actually, especially after this morning.
“Chris Bath will host live coverage from the ANZAC Day commemorative service in Gallipoli from 1pm”.
So, either not live or time is wrong. ABC and AN coverage is from 12:30 to 1:30, as usual.
