Filming is currently underway on Nine’s second series of The Block for 2014, and expected to include a mix of retail fronts and townhouse residences.
The location on High St, Prahran, just metres from Chapel Street, is the most high-profile filming location so far.
Gold Logie winner Scott Cam would not be drawn on the finer details, but he did tell TV Tonight, “It’s The Office Block, but what it turns into, you’ll have to watch.”
Asked if there would be 5 teams instead of 4 this season, he simply said,”Can’t tell you that.
“Just remember that The Block is always bigger and better than it was the previous season. That’s all you need to know!”
The series is coming later in the year, tipped to run after The Voice.

I agree as how big can The Block go but what I would like to see is true renovation been shown rather than a misleading drama show due to smart editing for ratings. How do these contestant know where to place walls and how they organise tradespeople.
Agree with @timmydownawell, the show was much more enjoyable when it a was an actual block of 4 units with realistic achievable expectations & Jamie Durie was the host. Would be nice if they looked at doing one in a northern state, rather than down south all the time.
@Poida you are correct. I’ve heard the next series they will be renovating the whole of Chadstone Shopping Centre.
At this rate they’ll be renovating a Shopping Centre
I would much rather they went back to renovating terraces and small scale blocks with realistic budgets and selling prices.
