Airdate: 2014 Billboard Music Awards

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will air Live and exclusive on Channel [V] in mid May.

Performers recently announced include Jason Derulo, Luke Bryan, Imagine Dragons, John Legend and OneRepublic.

Music heavyweights from all genres will descend on the MGM Grand Garden Arena to see which of the nominated artists walk away with the sought after Awards. This three-hour long special event will feature appearances and performances from some of the world’s biggest superstars, as the top artists are recognised in a variety of genres, including R&B, Rap, Pop, Country, Rock, Latin and Alternative. 

Chevrolet and Billboard have also announced Carrie Underwood, Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic as the top three finalists for the “2014 Milestone Award” as voted by fans and presented to the winner by superstar artist, Kelly Rowland. This is the second year the editorial award will go to an innovative artist who achieved a notable chart milestone in the past year. In addition to the three finalists, the other nominees for the “2014 Milestone Award” included Imagine Dragons, John Legend, and Luke Bryan.

Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. These measurements are tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.
