We’ve had singing, dancing, cooking, renovation, and modelling -but is sewing the next great reality contest?
The makers of The Great British Bake Off, scour the land for Britain’s best amateur sewer in The Great British Sewing Bee.
Presenter Claudia Winkleman tracks their progress as the expert judges – renowned Savile Row tailor Patrick Grant, and Women’s Institute Academy sewing specialist May Martin – scrutinise every stitch. The contestants must demonstrate excellent technique by following a pattern, showcase their creativity as they transform a high-street buy into their own creation, and take on the ultimate sewing challenge by producing made-to-measure garments from scratch. Set in a picturesque sewing shop, this warm-hearted series has charmed sewing buffs and non-enthusiasts alike with its tense competition, and the enthusiasm and camaraderie of the contestants.
Tuesdays from June 10 at 9.30pm on LifeStyle.

i can picture it now, a head to head battle with 2 contestants on sewing machines seeing who can sew something up the fastest. And i don’t like the picture of more ‘reality’ tv, ugh!
@ Bruce Banner….shame…now you will not learn how to make a shoulder cape or toweling turban… 😀
I think I’m washing my hair at 9:30 that night, shame.
