Seven News on the frontline

Seven has denied hiring actors to play the role of producers for a News promo.

Seven has denied hiring actors to play the role of newsroom producers for a network promo after a media report that accused it of blending fact with fiction, in the race for ratings.

News Corp rather hilariously reported “a thoroughly good looking” male and female were spotted at Seven’s Martin Place studios and a camera crew started buzzing about the pair who had been given instructions to: “check some paperwork”, “check some details on the computer screen”, “walk upstairs and downstairs,” “answer a phone call while browsing documents” and “pretend to type.”

Seven spokesman Simon Francis denied the shoot was for a News promo.

“(It’s) just one of our ongoing projects,” he said.

You just can’t write this stuff…

  1. Seven’s News and Current Affairs has really gone to the dogs ageing Presenters and no new standout reporters. I’m even starting to miss the comic value of TT. Fergo and Chris Reason are the only good thing about the news service. I think Australia is sick of the Bogan-ness of Seven.

  2. That’s great – they’ve run a short course on journalism that’s right up there with the best. Now to teach them to be a presenter: how to read a five star restaurant menu, followed by makeup chair tantrums and to look concerned – just like Mike Moore…
