A union dispute between Neighbours crew and producers FremantleMedia on pay and conditions has been settled.
The disagreement, which led to industrial action last month, arose as a result of stalled negotiations between the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance and FremantleMedia for an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA).
“We’re very happy that after reaching a stalemate with the MEAA we’ve been able to negotiate with the independent representatives for the successful introduction of the Neighbours EBA. It is a ground-breaking agreement for television. We can now all look forward to working together under the new agreement on our much-loved and enduring program,” a FremantleMedia Australia spokesperson said.
A 15 minute stop-work meeting last month was the Neighbours crew’s first industrial action in 25 years.
